Belvedere Plantation

Belvedere Plantation is a desirable waterfront community in Hampstead off of Highway 17. This community is located on an 18 hole golf course with a Country Club to entertain golfers, children and families. Joining the Country Club allows access to the club house, tennis courts, pool and snack bar. You can also take golf lessons through the Pro Shop or rent clubs and motorized golf carts to enjoy a day out on the green. There is also a driving range as well as a restaurant. New construction is still available or you can choose to live in one of the condos, patio homes, single family homes or waterfront lots that are currently on the market. Developers Mike Pollok and David Greer are breaking ground quickly with their new residential and commercial neighborhood of Wyndwater. Wyndwater is located on the former Topsail Greens Golf Course in Hampstead off of Highway 17. Two thirds of the 154 acre golf course will be 300-400 residential homes starting in the mid $200K. The beautiful homes will be surrounded by walking and biking trails with three ponds in the neighborhood. Wyndwater is a great location for any family. Not only is it located in the highly desirable Topsail school district, but just minutes from beach on Topsail Island and a short drive to Wilmington.

Carol Sue Blueberry Farm

Strawberries are in season! Now is the time to get to the strawberry patch to enjoy these delicious berries while they are in season. Carol Sue Blueberry Farm is located in Hampstead off of Highway 17. Already picked strawberries, hanging baskets and flowers are available for sale or you can get out in the field and hand select your perfect strawberries. Strawberry season is short, but blueberries usually ready for picking at Carol Sue Blueberry Farm in June.

Hampstead Lawn Seminar

Looking to add some major curb appeal to your property? Master Gardener David Hull will be at the Hampstead Public Library holding a lawn seminar May 6, 2014 from 11:00 to 12:00. He will be talking about how to care for grasses in our warm climate as well as irrigation and fertilization best practices. This is a great opportunity to learn how to choose a grass and how to keep your lawn looking its best, whether you’re just spring cleaning or preparing to put your house on the market.

Blake Farm a 1300 Acre Community

Trask Land Company is planning a 1300 acre community near the intersection of US Highway 17 and Sidbury Road. This proposal is called Blake Farm and will add 2,200 residential units with homes starting in the $300,000 range. The proposal states that the first phase of the project will add 300 apartment units and 200 single family homes. Plans also include 50 acres of future commercial development with the hopes of adding a hotel, medical offices and much more over the next ten years. Blake Farm will also feature bike trails, nature trails, green spaces and a community farm. The location in Pender County will be in a very desirable school district as well as close to the new Hampstead Bypass. The neighborhood will be following the Cape Fear Heritage Architectural guidelines to preserve the land and provide better quality homes for families. Plans include a waste water treatment facility to accommodate the future growth of the area.

Pender County Public Library

The Pender County Public Library is a great resource place to visit in Hampstead.

Every Wednesday from 10:15 – 11:00 is Toddler Time

Wednesday from 11:00 – 12:00 is Preschool Story Time

Come to story time at the library with Terry and Miles. Children sing songs, listen to a story, art projects to work on, play with play dough and browse the children’s section of the library. This is a wonderful way to spend the morning exploring the library with your children. Stop by the library anytime to check out all the programs they offer to our residents for free.

Farmers Market

Spring is just around the corner and so is the opening of the Poplar Grove Farmers Market. Opening day is Wednesday, April 9 from 8:00 AM – 1:00PM. The Farmers Market will be at Poplar Grove every Wednesday through November providing a retail outlet for local growers and producers to sell their goods directly to consumers. You can enjoy an entire morning touring the market. You will find fresh coffee as well as baked goods to get you started. From there you can find fresh flowers, arts and crafts handmade by local artists, seasonal vegetables, honey, seafood, plants and much more.

2014 Herb & Garden Fair

Are you looking to increase curb appeal for your new property or listing? Poplar Grove Plantation will be hosting the 2014 Herb & Garden Fair from 10:00 until 4:00. The plantation will have vendors selling all types of plants and herbs as well as arts and crafts that can liven up any yard or property. There will be classes and activities in the Cultural Arts Center as well as master gardeners present to answer any gardening questions you may have. Exhibits and displays will be set up for gardeners of all ages; yes even the kids will have fun too! The Pender County Beekeepers Association will also be selling local honey and bees. This event is free to the public and there is also a discounted rate of $7.00 to tour the Manor House.

River Bluffs Update

Update on River Bluffs in Castle Hayne. The community is starting to take shape with the construction of the main entrance and model home of the community. River Bluffs is a low impact development along the Cape Fear River offering a true waterfront coastal Carolina lifestyle.

The entire development covers an expanse of 313 total acres that will feature approximately 700 home sites. Owners will enjoy lots ranging in size from .25 - .35 acres in size with prices for land and home packages ranging between $300,000 - $500,000. Below you can see the model home currently under construction. The model will feature southern architecture similar to homes you can find in historic Wilmington or Charleston. 

A large selection of floor plans options available to meet every buyers needs. Below shows site prepping for a new home soon to be built. The community will have duplexes in the high 200's and single family homes starting in the mid 300's. 

With low impact development a priority for developer Mr. Burrows Smith. The River Bluffs community will focus on environmental preservation protecting more than a third of the overall community to be preserved for trails, open spaces and parks. Harlem Ambassadors

The Harlem Ambassadors are coming back to Hampstead for a rematch against the Topsail Fury. This is a professional show of the Harlem style basketball at its finest. The Harlem Ambassadors will entertain you with comedy, high flying slam dunks and games for the kids as they play against some of our local celebrities and officials. This family friendly fundraiser will be held at Topsail High School on March 9, 2014 at 4:00. Tickets are $13 for adults and $11 for children. The Harlem Ambassadors have partnered with the Kiwanis Club of Hampstead and the Topsail High School Athletic Boosters to bring you this fun filled evening of entertainment for the entire family. Proceeds from ticket sales will support the athletic programs at Topsail High School as well as various youth programs sponsored by the Kiwanis Club.
