Trask Land Company is planning a 1300 acre community near the intersection of US Highway 17 and Sidbury Road. This proposal is called Blake Farm and will add 2,200 residential units with homes starting in the $300,000 range. The proposal states that the first phase of the project will add 300 apartment units and 200 single family homes. Plans also include 50 acres of future commercial development with the hopes of adding a hotel, medical offices and much more over the next ten years. Blake Farm will also feature bike trails, nature trails, green spaces and a community farm. The location in Pender County will be in a very desirable school district as well as close to the new Hampstead Bypass. The neighborhood will be following the Cape Fear Heritage Architectural guidelines to preserve the land and provide better quality homes for families. Plans include a waste water treatment facility to accommodate the future growth of the area.
